A few hours to run errands, see your own doctor, or simply breathe, scheduled whenever needed.

Evening-through-morning coverage in the home, so an exhausted family caregiver finally sleeps through the night.

We build a standing weekly break into the calendar, so time off arrives before you are desperate.
Caregiver exhaustion builds slowly and then all at once, and the family carrying it is usually the last to see it.

Respite care is a planned break for a family caregiver: our caregiver steps in at home so you can step away, and your loved one keeps receiving care the whole time. Breaks run from a few hours to overnight stays or a full week away, on whatever schedule keeps you going.
If you are asking, you probably do. About one in five Nebraska adults is caring for a family member, and health researchers find most long-term caregivers develop symptoms of burnout: exhaustion that sleep does not fix, short tempers, canceled checkups, a shrinking life. A scheduled break is what keeps the caregiving sustainable. Request a free assessment and take the first one.
Everything you normally do, following the plan we build together. That covers meals, medication reminders, personal care like bathing and dressing where needed, and the companionship that keeps the day normal. You come home to someone who was looked after the way you would have done it.
Yes, and planning ahead makes it work smoothly. Families book respite for vacations, work trips, their own surgeries, and plain rest. For longer absences, 24-hour home care keeps someone in the home the whole time. A trial visit before the trip lets everyone relax while you are gone.
Sometimes. Nebraska runs a Lifespan Respite Subsidy that helps eligible unpaid family caregivers pay for breaks, and the Medicaid Aged and Disabled Waiver includes respite among its covered services. Each has its own rules and application, and we will point you to the right program during your assessment. Ask about Medicaid home care if your loved one is enrolled in the waiver.
